Research honesty
538,605 is migrant-worker return movements through Tribhuvan International Airport in FY2023/24 — not unique permanent returnees, and it excludes overland entry.
839,266 FY2024/25 figures are labour approvals — authorizations, not unique emigrants.
The 14.3% returnee-unemployment figure comes from NLFS 2017/18 and is too old to present as current, so we don't use it. The ~28% skill-documentation figure is a 2021 Koshi survey (published 2023) — evidence of the mechanism, not a national prevalence estimate.
